Cover Builder
Create a cover image without leaving Storyfall. The Build Cover tool lets you place your title over a solid color or uploaded background image, then saves the result as your story or blog cover. Use it when you want a custom cover without uploading final artwork or generating an image with AI.
You can create cover images for both stories and blog posts using this tool.
Open the Builder
For a story:
- Open Create Story, Edit Story, or the editor Settings panel.
- Click Build Cover.
For a blog post:
- Open the blog editor.
- Go to the cover image area at the top of the editor.
- Click Build Cover.
The builder opens full screen with a live preview on the left and controls on the right.
Text Controls
The Text section controls the title that appears on the cover.
| Control | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Title | The cover text. Press Enter inside the field for line breaks. |
| Font | Pick one of the curated fonts to use for the title. |
| Upload Custom Font | Uses your own .ttf, .otf, .woff, or .woff2 file for this cover. |
| Text Color | The title color. |
| Alignment | Left, center, or right alignment for the title block. |
| Vertical Position | Moves the title toward the top or bottom. |
| Horizontal Position | Moves the title left or right. |
| Text Shadow | Adds shadow behind the title for contrast. |
| Text Outline | Adds an outline around the title. |
| Font Size | Makes the title smaller or larger. |
| Letter Spacing | Tightens or widens the space between letters. |
| Line Spacing | Tightens or widens the space between title lines. |
| Text Width | Narrows or stretches the title horizontally. |
| Text Rotation | Rotates the title. |
| Text Opacity | Makes the title more transparent. |
Background Controls
The Background section controls what sits behind the title.
Use Background Color for a solid-color cover. Use Upload Background to place title text over your own image. When you use a background image, you can adjust Brightness, Blur, and image positioning controls so the title stays readable.
Save the Cover
Click Apply Cover when the preview looks right. Storyfall saves the generated image as the cover, just like an uploaded cover image.
Builder settings are restored when you reopen Build Cover for the same story or blog post. Text settings, colors, positions, uploaded background images, and uploaded custom fonts are saved.
