Sam and Judy went on an early morning hike at their local national forest. Judy had to convince Sam to come along, who was... not exactly a hiker. But Judy loved the outdoors, and she knew that Sam would too, if he could see it through her eyes. "Look at that beautiful oak tree! It's gotta be hundreds of years old. See how thick the trunk is?" Judy exclaimed, not even trying to hide her excitement. "Yeah, that's cool.[sigh]" Sam said, mentally shrugging. "Listen, that tree was around before this country was even here. And it'll probably be here long after we're both gone. Isn't that majestic?" Judy tried to convince Sam. "Yeah, I suppose so. It's cool how old it is." Sam said, relenting a little. "Oh, look at these wildflowers! They're beautiful.[giggle]" Judy pointed to the carpet of small blue flowers running down the hill and into the meadow.
