Spring 2026 Game Jam

Welcome to Storyfall's first game jam! We're opening this up to all genres and there's no specific theme, you can write about anything you want. For our first writing contest, we're going to have cash prizes.* First place: $500. Second place: $250. Third place: $100. Reader's choice: $50. If you would like to help judge stories, please reach out (either via a support request or on the Discord). Note that in addition to being judged on writing quality, coherence, entertainment value, etc. you can also score additional points for utilizing advanced Storyfall features. For instance, using scene and choice effects, global triggers, tags, dynamic choices, sound effects, theming, and other features of Storyfall's editor will help your submission, as long as usage is appropriate to your story. If your story doesn't need a specific feature, please don't feel the need to force it in. *Cash prizes will be paid out via wise.com to your email address. You'll need to enter your bank details on wise.com to get the payout (Storyfall won't see your bank details, just your email).

Rules & Guidelines

1. No AI used for writing. 2. Generative AI used for cover images is acceptable. 3. Stories can't have been previously published on Storyfall or anywhere else, they have to be new. 4. Submissions have to be in English. 5. Stories need to have branching narratives. The degree of branching is up to you, but fully linear stories where choices don't matter are not allowed. 6. Submissions have to comply with our content guidelines: https://storyfall.com/content-guidelines 7. You'll need a Storyfall account to submit your story, guest submissions are not allowed. 8. Anybody can vote on submitted stories during the 2 week voting period by just leaving reviews on the story. Whichever story gets the most positive reviews will get the "Reader's choice" reward. However the first, second, and third place will be decided by a committee that will include Storyfall and anybody else who wants to help judge stories (feel free to reach out if you do). This is to ensure bots leaving auto-reviews cannot skew the results. 9. Judges cannot vote on their own submissions. 10. Submitted stories must have a minimum of 2,000 words.
